The Punjab government has set up an executive committee to investigate the Lahore Motorway rape case.Notice was issued regarding the constitution of the five-member committee of inquiry.

The committee will be led by Punjab Legal Minister Raja Basharat and the additional Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, IG specialized branch, DIG Punjab investigation and the DG Forensic Science Agency will be among the members. The committee is tasked with completing the investigation within three days and submitting recommendations to the Prime Minister Usman Buzdar.
Capital City police (CCPO) officer Lahore Omar Sheikh on Thursday suspended two police officers from the station (SHO) for using a ‘delay strategy’ in filing the first information report (FIR) of a road rape incident.
