The World Health Organization (WHO) has named Pakistan among its list of countries the world can imitate in the fight against coronavirus.

WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at a media briefing recently said Pakistan has used the improved infrastructure in its fight against polio to deal with COVID-19.
Other countries mentioned by the WHO king are Thailand, Italy, Mongolia, Mauritius, Uruguay.Pakistan has seen a steady decline in the number of positive cases after the country reported its first COVID-19 case in February.Last month, the government lifted most of the remaining borders in the country after new charges dropped for several weeks.

Pakistan has reported 300,361 cases and continues to record an uninfected decline in new diseases. The country also reported 6,370 deaths and more than 280,000 new infections.Former Health Minister Dr Zafar Mirza thanked the WHO head of state and said it was “a great honor” for the people of Pakistan. Mirza presided over Pakistan’s COVID-19 response before resigning in July.
